When FM decided to accept Rob LaDuca’s invitation to play NEARfest 2006, I was very sure of one thing – that when it came to the keyboards, the only thing vintage onstage would be me!
Claudio Vena
FM's newest member is Claudio Vena. Born in Italy and now living in Canada, Claudio is an internationally reknown conductor, composer and recording artist. Claudio's exceptional performance skills on viola and mandolin adds a new dimension to the FM sound.
Near Fest
FM will appear in concert at the North East Art Rock Festival, NEARfest in the early summer of 2006, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

June 21, 2005 - Cameron Hawkins and Martin Deller are FM in the 21st Century

FM played its last “farewell” show in Toronto in the summer of 1996 at the Molson Amphitheatre located in the waterfront park, Ontario Place. A fitting location, given FM’s triumphant performance way back in 1978 at the (then) Ontario Place Forum, where we receive our gold record for Black Noise.

The 1996 show was entitled “Superstars of the ‘70’s” with such notable mainstream Canadian bands as Bachman Turner Overdrive, April Wine and Loverboy.

Not exactly the kind of company FM would have kept in the 1970’s! But the music business is a crazy world and if this was the way we were to bow out – well at least the deli tray was fresh and the beer was cold.

And so closed the book on FM – twenty years after our first concert. To be honest, neither of us thought we’d play together again.

Until last week, that is…
